This quilt exists as a testimony of intergenerational bonds revealing the legacy of a powerful matriarch. This display lineages directly points to my personal selfhood through screenprinted images of my own family. Images of my mother holding me as a baby, my grandmother taking care of my mother, and my great grandmother holding her, speak to the legacy of maternal care across time. Preserved in fabric and stitched into a single quilt, the labor of love yields a bond that is unchanging.
